Reema Mendoza, Ph.D.
Research Associate
Reema studies music perception and cognition, exploring questions related to how infants’ everyday musical experiences shape their learning and development.
Heather Anderson
Ph.D. Student
Heather is a doctoral student who studies how parent-child interactions influence the development of language and executive functioning over time. She is particularly interested in the language and strategies parents use to guide their children through “everyday tasks” like grooming, mealtime, and book-reading – things that can be challenging for a young child.
Ally Kuznia
Ph.D. Student
Ally is a Ph.D. student who studies how children learn and remember language over extended time. Outside the lab, she spends her time figure skating, playing with her puppy, and drinking fancy coffee with friends.
Kayla McComb
Ph.D. Student
Kayla is a Ph.D. student who studies musical and linguistic development. She is particularly interested in how environmental musical experience impacts infant vocalizations. Outside of the lab, Kayla enjoys playing with her puppy, cooking, and writing and listening to music.
Evan Arasu

Evan is a second year undergraduate majoring in Psychology. Evan’s goal is to one day be a clinical psychologist. Evan enjoys longboarding, spending time with friends, and going to the beach.
Jorge Barraza Bautista

Jorge is a senior undergraduate whose main interests are in cognitive and developmental psychology. Jorge’s goal is to work with underrepresented children, primarily in school settings, and support them in their initial educational development.

Carlie is a junior undergraduate from Austin, Texas. Carlie is majoring in Psychology with hopes to open her own practice someday. Carlie loves to volunteer and is very involved in her sorority.
Natalie Dueltgen

Natalie is junior undergraduate student majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology. Natalie hopes to attend graduate school and become a neuropsychologist. Natalie spends most of her free time outdoors, reading, or painting.

Madeline is a sophomore undergraduate majoring in neuroscience and minoring in multimedia art and plans to pursue graduate school. Madeline enjoys learning new things, creating art, and spending time with friends and family.

Lucie is a first year undergraduate planning to major in psychology, with a minor in linguistics or music, on a track to medical school. Lucie loves to crochet, read, and hang out with friends and family.
Kaitlyn Henner

Kaitlyn is a senior undergraduate student majoring in Psychology in the Clark Honors College. After completing undergrad, Kaitlyn hopes to continue on to graduate school to study adolescent counseling. You can always find Kaitlyn trying a new coffee shop, doing Pilates, or cooking.

Andrew is a senior undergraduate student double majoring in Psychology and Economics. Other than pursuing research in psychology, Andrew enjoys reading fiction and hiking with his two children.

Jena is double majoring in Communication Disorders and Sciences and Psychology, and she is interested in how children learn language from the objects in their environment. She hopes to become a Speech Language Pathologist with a focus in Early Intervention. In her free time Jena loves to read, try new coffee shops, and spend time with friends and family.

Emmy is a senior undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sport Business. Emmy plans to earn a graduate degree in sports psychology. Emmy is excited to contribute to the PLAY project.
